This gadget has dozens of uses. It will be invaluable if you do leather work and have to prick a number of spaces all equidistant, say when thonging. It will come in handy when you have to rule a number of lines with equal spaces between them. And, it would be easy to suggest a score of other uses.
This is how it is made. Take a cog-wheel from an old alarm wheel from an old alarm clock or even from a watch that has ceased to function, fit a short piece of wire through the axis, slip a tiny washer on each side and, then, fix on two thin pieces of wood to serve as a handle. Bind them together with fine wire, but do not approach too close to the wheel or it will refuse to rotate freely.
