The Guinness World Records world record for the largest dessert pizza has a total surface area of 20.03 m² (215.60 ft²) and was prepared by Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar (Australia) at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia, on 25 September 2016.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest pizza; it has a total surface area of 1,261.65 m² (13,580.28 ft²) and was prepared by Dovilio Nardi, Andrea Mannocchi, Marco Nardi, Matteo Nardi and Matteo Giannotte (all Italy) from NIPfood at Fiera Roma, in Rome, Italy, on 13 December 2012.

More than 100 people spent more than 54 hours to create this massive pizza.

Pizza masters from all across the country gathered at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California to dethrone Italy, the birthplace of pizza, which set a new world record last year for their 1.15 mile pizza.

The California Pizza Pit Crew included Tony Gemignani of Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, Giulio Adriani of NYC’s Forcella mini-chain, and Jimmy DeSisto of nearby Venice Bakery in Torrance.

Approximately 17,700 lbs. of dough, 5,000 lbs. of tomato sauce and 3,900 lbs. of mozzarella cheese were used to create the longest pizza.

The pizza, which stretched around much of the outside of the Fontana oval, broke the record of 6,082 feet which had been set in Italy last year.
