USA Guinness World Records: Largest Peach Cobbler

Porter, Oklahoma, USA – July 21, 2016 – The cobbler made during the 50th Annual Porter Peach Festival, containing 966 pounds of peaches, 369 pounds of butter, 405 pounds of flour, 723 pounds (87 gallons) of milk, 1.2 pounds of baking powder and 537 pounds of sugar weighed a whopping 2,902 pounds, thus setting the new world record for the Largest peach cobbler.

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest fruit cobbler weighed 1,021 kg (2,251 lbs) and was made by the Hampton Inn of Ruston (USA) for the 65th Annual Louisiana Peach Festival in Ruston, Louisiana, USA on 27 June 2015.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest fruit salad; it weighed 8,690 kg (19,158 lb 2.72 oz) and was achieved by Spar Österreichische Warenhandels-AG (Austria) in Vienna, Austria, on 27 June 2014.

Volunteers started making the cake mix cobbler at 3 a.m. and placed it in the hand crafted oven heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit at 8:37 a.m., The Tulsa World reports.

They checked on the cobbler every hour, and the crust had bubbled to a golden brown crisp by the time it was pulled out of the oven shortly after 1 p.m.

The cobbler weighed 2,902 pounds, breaking the previous Guinness world record of 2,251 pounds set by Ruston, La.
