Photo: Pickering’s Gin have created their own collection of baubles, each made of colourful glass (so they look quite pretty) and filled with 50ml of gin. They’re available in packs of six baubles for £30.
The Guinness World Records world record for the largest gin tasting event (multiple venues) involved 796 participants, achieved by The New World Trading Company (UK), across nine venues in the UK, on 11 February 2016.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most varieties of gin commercially available; it is 623, achieved by Kevin Berkins (UK), at the Fence Gate in Burnley, Lancashire, UK, as verified on 1 July 2015.
Pickering’s explained to The Scotsman that the baubles have been so popular, the company’s had to start releasing them in batches so production can keep up with demand.
This year, the distillery say they will set out to make 300,000 baubles and start in early January 2017 to ensure that they meet demand for next Christmas.
The baubles are retailed in a gift pack with six differently coloured baubles containing 50ml of Pickering’s Gin (RRP: £30).
The next batch will be released exclusively to their Ginfriends mailing list in early December, so it’s worth signing up if you desperately want to cover your tree in gin, The Metro reports.
