London, United Kingdom – September 9, 2017 – A king-sized samosa was made by a dozen volunteers from the Muslim Aid UK charity and then deep-fried in a custom-built vat at East London Mosque; weighing 153.1kg, it has set the new world record for the Largest samosa.

Photo: Smashing all records, a king-sized samosa weighing 153.1kg has earned the tag of being the world’s largest. The gigantic snack was made by a dozen volunteers from the Muslim Aid UK charity and then deep-fried in a custom-built vat at East London Mosque.

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest noodle measured 548.7 m (1,800 ft 2 in) in length and 3.3 mm in diameter, and was made by Hiroshi Kuroda in Nasu, Tochigi, Japan on 24 March 2007.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest serving of salsa; it weighed 3,314.8 kg (7,308 lb) and was prepared by El Sol Foods and Arizona Hemophilia (both USA) in Gilbert, Arizona, USA, on 7 March 2014.

Smashing all records, a king-sized samosa weighing 153.1kg has earned the tag of the world’s largest.

The gigantic snack was made by a dozen volunteers from the Muslim Aid UK charity and then deep-fried in a custom-built vat at East London Mosque.

Project organiser Farid Islam told the AFP that it was very tense and his heart was beating all the time. “It looked like it was going to slide off. A crack appeared and I feared the worst,” the 26-year-old added.

The samosa took around 15 hours of work and was dished up into hundreds of portions distributed to the local homeless via the Salvation Army.
