Ambedkar Jayanti Coloring Pages For Students: Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Modern Buddhist Movement and campaigned against social discrimination of Dalits, women and labour.

B R Ambedkar studied at Elphinstone College, University of Bombay, and then pursued economics at Columbia University and the London School of Economics. He achieved doctorates in 1927 and 1923, respectively, making him one of the few Indian students to do so at those institutions in the 1920s. He also trained in law at Gray’s Inn, London, and worked as an economist, professor, and lawyer.

As his career progressed, Ambedkar became actively involved in politics, campaigning for the rights of Dalits and contributing to the formation of India as an independent nation. In 1956, he converted to Buddhism, leading many Dalits to do the same.

In 1990, Ambedkar was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. His followers honor him with the phrase “Jai Bhim” (meaning “Hail Bhim”), and they affectionately call him “Babasaheb,” meaning “Respected Father.”
