101 Dalmatians is a comic adventure film set around a lady who tries to kidnap puppies for their fur, but different animals get together to take revenge in slapstick fashion. Produced by Walt Disney, 101 Dalmatians is directed by Stephen Herek. The movie is based on 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians written by Dodie Smith. The movie revolves around the fate of the kidnapped puppies of Pongo and Perdita, the two leading Dalmatians. Glenn Close plays the lead role as the villainous Cruella de Vil. Jeff Daniels and Joely Richardson play other significant roles as Roger and Anita respectively. This flick is filled with action, fun, comedy and humor – all required in a kids’ movie. Roger Dearly (Jeff Daniels), an American video games designer shares home with his pet Dalmatian, Pongo. Pongo sets his eyes on a beautiful female Dalmatian, Perdita / Perdy while on a walk one day. Pongo chases Perdy through the streets of London only to discover that both like each other. Roger meets Perdy’s owner, Anita Campbell-Green (Joely Richardson), a fashion designer for Cruella de Vil (Glenn Close). Roger and Anita share a good rapport easily and start liking. Eventually, love blossoms between both human and canine couples.

Meanwhile, Anita designs a fur coat with spotted fur after being inspired by her Dalmatian dogs. Cruella, who has a passion for cigarettes and fur, decides to get the garments made out of real Dalmatians. On learning about Perdy to give birth to fifteen Dalmatian puppies, Cruella offers a fair deal with Roger and Anita for the newborn puppies. However, the couple refuses leading to Anita being expelled from her job. Cruella orders her fearsome henchmen, Jasper (Hugh Laurie) and Horace (Mark Williams) to kidnap the puppies and get them to Cruella’s ancient estate, De Vil Mansion.

Here begins the race between the two henchmen and the Dalmatian puppies, who escape with the help of other dogs and animals. They all reach a farm where Pongo and Perdy are expected to wait for their puppies. However, Cruella manages to find them and reaches the farm. But she has least expected about the troubles that are waiting for her. A pig ends up sitting on her who flatulates on her face. She later falls into a vat of molasses caused by raccoons and is finally kicked by a horse into a pig pen.

Enter the Metropolitan Police Service who arrests Cruella along with her henchmen. The Dalmatians are driven home safely where they are handed over to Roger and Anita. The other Dalmatians Cruella stole is too adopted by the family, totaling the number to 101 Dalmatians. Roger attempts at creating a new video game are successful with Dalmatian puppies playing the protagonists and Cruella as the villain.
