Which was theme state for Surajkund Craft Mela?

Surajkund Craft Mela Theme: The Mela has been organized since 1981 with a view to promote regional cultural proceedings on a national level. Every year, a new state within the country is selected as its theme. In 2019 year, Maharashtra was chosen as the theme state and this year Himachal Pradesh has been chosen as theme state. In 2020 – Uzbekistan has been chosen as the partner country. The state of Rajasthan was first selected as the theme state of the Mela in the year 1989.

Surajkund is the annual fair that showcases the finest hand-looms, handicrafts, authentic fragrances & flavors of rich Indian cuisines. As winter turns briefly into spring, a caravan of more than 400 National and State awardee craft persons from every corner of India wind their way to Surajkund. The craft persons from SAARC Nations are also participating in the Surajkund Crafts Mela. At Surajkund Mela, the artisans’ delicate hands create the most beautiful pieces which have fascinated many through ages!

Gujarat: 2024 Theme State

The 37th edition of Surajkund Mela 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 02 to February 18 in Surajkund, Faridabad. The festival will witness a grand inauguration by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.

The Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2024 will start from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Ticket prices vary based on the day of the week, with a rate of Rs 120 applicable from Monday to Friday and Rs 180 for Saturday and Sunday.

Surajkund Crafts Mela 2024 will showcase the vibrant cultural tapestry of Gujarat, as it has been chosen as the theme state for this edition. The fair complex, including decorations and stalls, will be adorned with elements reflecting the rich heritage of Gujarati culture. Gujarat had previously served as the theme state in 1997.
