Movie Review:

Anant (Chittranjan Giri) is a middle-aged hearse driver who brings corpses to the crematorium. He dreams regularly about his mother, Akka (Chhaya Kadam). Daduba, who has raised Anant after Akka’s demise, had told him about Akka, but Anant realises that there’s something mysterious about both, Akka and Daduba, which Daduba had not revealed to him. He delves deeper and gets to know shocking things of the past.

Karan Shivajirao Chavan’s story is hardly interesting or engaging. His screenplay is often confusing and definitely not half as thrilling as it ought to have been. The horror quotient is low. Karan Chavan’s dialogues are unimpressive.

Chittranjan Giri does well as Anant but he is not hero material. Chhaya Kadam performs ably as Akka. Virat Madke is okay in the role of Daduba. Neel Sheth is so-so as Aadi. Shriya Athnikar lends ordinary support as Shama. Prabhakar Vartak (as Swami Vedant), Rajendra Bhambhulkar (as Shantaram), Rukayya Shiledar (as the haunted girl) and the others provide routine support.

Karan Shivajirao Chavan’s direction is weak. Music (by Aniket Ashutosh Mangrulkar) is below average. Vikram Tanajirao Patil ‘s camerawork is okay. Production designing (by Arvind Shamrao Mangal) hardly deserves separate mention. Chandrashekhar Bapu Gurav’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Bardovi is a flop show.
