Rishab Shetty won Best Actor National Award for Kantara

The 70th National Film Awards ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhavan on October 8, where the film industry’s top talents were honoured for their outstanding contributions in 2022. President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty.

The event was broadcast live on YouTube through the Doordarshan channel.

The recipients of this year’s National Film Awards were announced in August. KGF Chapter 2 took home the award for Best Kannada Film and Best Action Direction, while Kantara earned Rishab Shetty the Best Actor in a Leading Role honour. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva also scored big, winning Best Male Playback Singer for Arijit Singh, Best Film in the AVGC category (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic), and Best VFX Film.
