The Guinness World Records world record for the largest pizza delivery was organised by Pizzas 4 Patriots (USA), who sent 30,000 pizzas with DHL Express to the United States Armed Forces, in Kandahar Airfield, Bagram Airbase and Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, on 4 July 2012. The 12 inch pizzas were made by Great Kitchens, Inc. in Illinois and the delivery started on 21 June 2012.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest curry delivery; it was ordered by Jon Wise and James Crisp (both UK) and was delivered over 18,830 km (11,701 miles) from Christchurch, New Zealand to Manchester, UK, where it arrived on 29 February 2008.

The only human input on Amazon’s side was from the person who packed up the box the drone carried.

Future testing in the UK, where the government has permitted Amazon to fly drones beyond the line of sight of a pilot—something that the US government has not yet allowed, will involve two customers in Cambridge, with plans to expand to hundreds more.

They’ll be able to order a specific set of products (weighing less than 5 lbs. per order, as the small drones can carry only so much) and have them delivered by drone, at no extra cost, any day of the week during daylight hours, weather permitting.
