UK Guinness World Records: Heaviest vehicle pulled by hair

Leicester, UK – May 31, 2016 – A grandad has broken his 57th world record after towing a 12-tonne double-decker bus – with nothing more than his tiny ponytail; strongman Manjit Singh, 66, smashed the previous Guinness World Records record of 9.5 tonnes set by another man in 2010 when he hauled the Arriva bus 15.5m (50ft), thus setting the the new world record for Heaviest vehicle pulled by hair.

The Guinness World Records world record for the heaviest vehicle pulled by the hair alone was a bus weighing 9,585.4 kg (21,132.19 lb), achieved by He Yi Qun (China) on the set of CCTV – Guinness World Records Special in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, China on 13 January 2015.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the heaviest vehicle pulled by hair (female); it is 12,216 kg (26931.67 lb) and was achieved by Asha Rani (India) on the set of ‘Lo Show dei Record’ in Milan, Italy, on 7 July 2014.

Strongman Manjit Singh, 66, smashed the previous Guinness World Records world record of 9.5 tonnes set by another man in 2010 when he hauled the Arriva bus 15.5m (50ft).

He had previously held the world record after he pulled an 8.5 tonne coach in 2009 before another competitor took his crown the following year.

Manjit had four failed starts at Braunstone Leisure Centre car park in Leicester because his hair was “too shiny” after he washed it.
