Highest standing jump: Evan Ungar breaks Guinness World Records record

Oakville, Canada – May 16, 2016 – Evan Ungar, 24, broke the current Guinness World Records world record of 59.8 inches (set by Justin Bephel in South Carolina in 2012) with a jump of 61.5 inches (1.61 metres) onto a box, or platform, in front of an audience of 100-150 at the One Health Clubs facility in Oakville, setting the new world record for the Highest standing jump.

The Guinness World Records world record for the highest standing jump onto a platform was 1.52 m (5 ft) by Justin Bethel (USA) at Presbyterian College Athletics Gym based in Clinton, South Carolina, on 27 April 2012.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people star-jumping simultaneously is 1,368 and was achieved by Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association (Hong Kong) in Hong Kong, China on 28 March 2015.

For good measure, the Oakville resident hit 63.5 inches on his final effort. That’s 1.61 metres in metric measurement.

Ungar, who is director of personal fitness training at Oakville’s One Health Centres on Upper Middle Road, said he has no jump-specific training.
