UAE Guinness world record: Largest mango sticky rice

Dubai, UAE – November 23, 2016 – Anantara the Palm Dubai Resort has entered the Book of World Records for the ‘Largest Mango Sticky Rice’ dish, which weighed in at 2,831 kg.

Photo: Cooked by 10 chefs, the recipe for record-breaking success included 1,000 kg of rice, 500 litres of coconut milk, 500 litres of coconut cream, 50 kgs of sugar, 300 kg of mango and 3 litres of oil – all of which was sourced from local suppliers.

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest rice ball mosaic is 113.96 m² (1,226 ft² 100 in²) and was created by The World Largest Rice Ball Mosaic Art Project (Japan), in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, on 11 March 2013. 31,100 onigiri rice balls in six different colours were used to form the mosaic image.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest rice dumpling; it weighed 1,316 kg (2,901 lb 4 oz) and was made by Yunlin County Government in association with Taizhong Plaza International Hotel (both Taiwan) in Yunlin, Taiwan on 25 April 2008.

Once the new record was confirmed, guests and attendees were able to taste it. The dish was then taken to be redistributed to those in need in labour camps, Shapoorji Pallonji Mideast and Transgaurd, serving more than 2,500 labourers.
