The Guinness World Records world record for the most blooms on an orchid plant is 106 and was achieved by Karen Bartlett (UK) at the RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey, UK, as verified on 11 January 2016.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest water lily; it is Victoria amazonica, whose gigantic floating leaves measure up to 3 m (10 ft) across, and are held in place upon an underwater stalk 7-8 m (23-26 ft) long.

The stem produced more than 70 pink blossoms, surpassing the current Guinness World Record for the most flowers on a lily, which is 50, The Frederick News Post reports.

Researchers have determined that a variety of factors can lead to fasciation: environmental changes, chemicals, damage to the plant, hormones and genetics, among other causes.

Sharon Morrisey, the consumer horticulture agent for the Milwaukee County University of Wisconsin-Extension said Kroon’s case is unique because fasciation usually affects only the vegetation. If there are a few flowers, they are often mutated or grow as attached twins. Morrisey had never seen anything like Kroon’s lily.
