Photo: About 1,000 people entered a pit at RiverEdge Park on the Fourth of July evening to take part in Aurora’s attempt to enter the Book of World Records for the most head bangers coming together at one time.
The Guinness World Records world record for the most people doing a handstand simultaneously was 399 at an event organised by the Braderie Comity of Wevelgem in Wevelgem, Belgium on 17 September 2006.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people performing lunges; it is 2,201 and was achieved by Kayla Itsines and the BBG Community in Melbourne, Australia, on 17 November 2016.
The Guinness world record for the most people head banging simultaneously is 320 and was achieved by students of Armidale High School, NSW, Australia in honour of Guinness World Records Day 2014. (The song was ‘It’s a long way to the top’ by Aussie rockers AC/DC).
Those 1,000-plus folks who gathered at RiverEdge Park on the Fourth of July evening not only broke the Guinness World Record for “Most People Head Banging Simultaneously,” they smashed it.
The headbanging event that culminated the City of Aurora’s six month celebration of the 25th anniversary of “Wayne’s World” was a rocking success, The Chicago Tribune freports.
