More than 250 runners, including a handful of professionals, teamed up in midtown Manhattan to set the World Record for most people in a treadmill relay.
The relay marks the first-ever attempt at such a record. Participants were required to jog one mile in under 9 minutes 41 seconds, The Daily News New York reports.
Several professional athletes were slated to carry the baton on the treadmill, including four-time Olympian and former Bronx resident Meb Keflezighi, Team USA Olympian and Puerto Rican record-holder Beverly Ramos and former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber.
