The Guinness World Records world record for the longest line of sandwiches is 3,865.78 metres (12,679.72 feet) and was achieved by Nocilla (Spain) in Barcelona, Spain, on 1 June 2013. The sandwiches was filled with Nocilla chocolate and hazelnut spread and hazelnuts. The average length of the sandwich was 50cm and there were 7790 sandwiches in total.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people making sandwiches simultaneously is 2,586 and was achieved by TangoTab and Friends (USA), at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, USA, on 27 February 2016.
The Spreading Party event supported Project PB&J, an initiative of the Which Wich Cares Foundation, launched in 2014.
Every sandwich was immediately wrapped, packaged and donated to 14 Dallas-area food banks, veterans organizations and schools with the help of the Folds of Honor Foundation.
“We believe that the simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich can make the world a better place,” said Jeff Sinelli, founder, CEO and chief vibe officer of Which Wich, who was one of the sandwich makers in attendance.”
The Spreading Party would not have been possible without the partnership and generous support in materials, staffing and logistics of the event’s sponsors: Alpha Baking Co. Inc., Flowers Foods, Georgia-Pacific Professional, The J.M. Smucker Co., Sweet Street Desserts, Sysco Corp., Tradex Foods and Which Wich.
Others who helped contribute to achieving the world record include: the Gaylord Texan Resort, the Grapevine Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and numerous special guests and helpers.
